SETH JACKSON

Occupation: Database administrator

After graduating with a degree in Comp Sci, Seth found a job in the Boston area, if not one he particularly enjoys. But it pays the bills, and besides he's used to boredom. He would rather play games than advance his career as it is; striving to be unbeatable in whatever game has caught his fancy is about the most effort he puts into anything.

Seth was orphaned as a baby. He considers his adoptive parents, the Jacksons, to be his family.

NICK REMONTE

Age: 23
Occupation: Graduate student (Religious Studies)

Seth's roommate. The two met at college, and, despite having few obvious common interests, became close. Nick draws Seth into philosophical debates and chess matches; Seth in turn subjects Nick to video games and computer lore, and drags him from his studies when he decides Nick is working too hard.

Other than Seth, Nick has few friends, though everyone agrees he is a singularly generous and considerate individual. Despite reports to the contrary, he does have a sense of humor, as well as a great appreciation for art of all kinds. He can beat a cat in a staring contest, and has a larger income than one expects of grad students.

On no account allow Nick to cook anything more complicated than a PopTart. And be careful with those.

MONICA YUU

Age: 23
Occupation: Freelancer (computers)

Monica is the typical girl next door, if one typically lives next door to paranoid fangirl punk hackers with wicked streaks a mile wide. An ex-Goth - she says she outgrew it - Monica was an acquaintance of Seth's in high school. They met again when she audited an electronics course at Seth's school, and she recommended the apartment across the hall when he and Nick were looking for a place.

Monica enjoys a good practical joke, and a bad one even more. Her screenname is Moriarty and her two goldfish are Luthor and Lex. She can quote Weekly World News without believing a word of it, but isn't quite convinced that The X-files was fiction.

ADAM (PRIMUS?)

Age: Unknown
Occupation: None

Adam knows almost nothing about himself save his name; his memories begin the morning Seth found him in the bathtub. How he got there, where he came from, and who he is are all mysteries. While apparently he is sought by whoever held him before, he has no idea why. Seth, Nick, and Monica have agreed to help him however they can, and currently he is staying in Seth and Nick's apartment.

The only name Adam recalls besides his own, though he consciously remembers nothing of who it belongs to.
